Miami Tarpon Fishing
Several tarpon trips over the past 5 days have produced between 1 to 9 fish per trip. On Monday night, once we hit the dusk period, the tarpon were feeding almost as fast as we could put the baits out. By the end of the evening, Phil and his 3 sons had seen action with 9 tarpon.
I had the same group on Tuesday evening. The fish showed up just like on Monday night. The only difference was they weren't feeding. While we were waiting for the tarpon to turn on, we did catch and release 3 yellow jacks and a 2 pound bluerunner. Made a major move to Haulover. On our 5th drift we got the bite we were looking for. The fish made a screaming run, a tumbling jump, and threw the hook.
Last night Tug wanted to catch his favorite saltwater fish, the tarpon. While setting up, we marked numerous tarpon on the side scan. Put the baits out and in about a minute, we hooked up. After releasing the fish, Tug needed a breather. The tarpon cooperated and about 4 drifts later we hooked up again. The first fish was in the 110 pound class. The second one was a bit smaller at about 80 pounds. Caught a small bluerunner and it got sharked at the boat.
The tarpon are here solid and for the most part have been very cooperative with their feeding. If you've ever wanted to experience the thrill of catching the silver king, now is the time to give me a call or email and I'll do my best to make it happen.
